It was still nascent. EDGE was well deployed and 3G just coming on board. But that really wasn't the problem here. GSM is GSM is GSM. Apple only recently went CDMA and is in the process of deploying hardware that can be on both 3G technologies. It might already be here with the iPad 2. We are a long way from that with 4G. My guess is that with the sunk costs of network infrastructure, we'll see hardware that can handle both LTE and WiMax and Apple integrating it in due time.

Interesting write-up.

I hear you on the iPad2 not being nearly the revolution the original iPad was, but if the performance improvements are as great as they claim, this is a very strong follow-up, IMHO. Considering Apple's past when it comes to embracing new wireless tech, I'm not too surprised they held off on 4G. What stage was 3G deployment at when the original iPhone shipped?

Like Mayor-for-life Bloomberg's NYC cigarette taxes, Obama has unwittingly created a black market-like cottage industry---mortgage "helpers"

Good government is always in an arms race with the hustlers.

THIS is what the president and his cronies should be doing to the banking industry as he strips THEM of power and gives it to the Post Office!!!
IF the Post Office was in the credit card game WE wouldn't be paying more than 5-18% interest, and people in mortgage trouble wouldn't be victims of that new breed of vultures---the mortgage "gurus"
