Robert Barrimond

Robert BarrimondThroughout his career, Robert has sought to improve business effectiveness by leveraging information technology and successful training and mentoring for clients from small businesses to Fortune 100 firms.  As an information strategist at RLB Enterprises LLC, he creates value for clients by helping them find, develop, and leverage new sources of information to drive competitive advantage.

After graduating from MIT, Robert began his career at Lockheed Martin working in the government sector.  He soon began work as a consultant training and mentoring Fortune 100 companies in information technology.  In 2000, he joined Hewlett Packard as a Solutions Architect.  There he developed multimillion-dollar solutions and mentored personnel at Fortune 100 clients on mission critical information technology systems.  After earning his MBA from The Wharton School in 2004, Robert focused on wealth management first at UBS then at Abacus, a fee-only high net worth wealth management firm.  There he managed client portfolios on a day-to-day basis and developed portfolio analysis tools to service clients.  After leaving Abacus, Robert returned to consulting at BEA Systems (which was quickly acquired by Oracle) in 2008. Robert formed RLB Enterprises LLC in 2009 to focus entirely on information strategy.  Currently, he teaches the Introduction to Information Systems course at the Haub School of Business, St. Joseph’s University. Robert also consults to faculty and teaches at The Wharton School.

Robert is active in his community.  He serves a board member of EducationWorks, a non-profit service provider to school districts focused on kids and their families who confront high poverty rates.  Robert is an enthusiastic parishioner at St. Raymond of Penafort in NW Philadelphia and active in several ministries.  He is also a member of several organizations such as the MIT Club of the Delaware Valley, the Pyramid Club, the National Black MBA Association Philadelphia Chapter, and an alumnus of 2005-2006 Fellow of the Center for Progressive Leadership’s PA Political Leaders program.

Robert earned his B.S. in Aeronautical/Astronautical Engineering from MIT, an M.S.E. in Systems Engineering (Business Systems) from the University of Pennsylvania, and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.  An avid science fiction fan, gamer, music enthusiast, Apple enthusiast, and martial artist, he currently resides in Philadelphia, PA with his wife Lisa and son Amari.
